What's the Deal with Treaties? educational kit introduces the important concepts of treaty making in British Columbia, and includes a publication and a 20-minute video. The kit is intended to be used in Social 10 and First Nations 12 classes.

Nisga'a Dancing in Both Worlds

The BC Treaty Commission and Surrey School District marked the ten-year anniversary of the Nisga’a treaty with the release of a comprehensive wiki site that works hand-in-hand with the ministry-approved video, Nisga’a Dancing in Both Worlds.

Teachers can screen the 44-minute video in a series of clips or in its entirety depending on their class’ needs. While the Nisga'a video and lesson plans were developed specifically for the Social Studies 11 curriculum, the resources are also relevant to Social Studies 10, First Nations 12, and Social Justice 12.in a series of clips, or show the video in its entirety depending on what works better for their classroom.
